About the event
The «Menys Turisme, Més Vida» (Less Tourism, More Life) platform will arrive in Menorca this Saturday, October 10th, thanks to the Associació de Vesins s'Enclusa de Ferreries, which has organized an event to present its proposals and lines of action.
The presentation will take place at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium of IES Biel Martí, in Ferreries, and will feature the platform's spokesperson, Cristina Vaquer. During the meeting, Vaquer will explain the origin and creation process of «Menys Turisme, Més Vida», its main strategic lines, and the roadmap it proposes for the coming months.
The platform gained significant prominence this past summer for its role in the mobilizations against over-tourism in Mallorca. Among its key actions was the demonstration held on July 26th in Palma, which gathered 25,000 people according to the National Police and around 70,000 according to the organizers.
The mobilization aimed to demand a reduction in tourist activity and highlight its consequences on housing, land, and public services. Now, «Menys Turisme, Més Vida» will bring its message to Menorca to address the challenges posed by the current tourism model and its effects on the daily lives of the local population.
