About the event
Conference at the Museu de Menorca (Maó) on Thursday, December 10, 2026, at 7:30 PM about the Diary of Mahó and its interpretation as an example of paleojournalism. The conference offers a renewed perspective on the Diary of Mahó, written by Joan Roca Vinent between 1776 and 1826, interpreting it as a form of handwritten journalism or paleojournalism. This event is part of the bicentennial commemoration of the death of Captain Joan Roca Vinent (1747-1826) and places the diary in context with the emergence of printed press in Menorca. Registration opens on November 27th; the event is also available online. Sign language interpretation (LSC) can be requested one week in advance. Duration: 1 hour and 15 minutes.
