About the event
On Sunday, October 11th, the Port of Maó opens up to a unique experience to discover the forgotten stories of shellfish gathering and the maritime traditions of the area. Sailing through this historic enclave, we will explore places where shellfish gathering and other traditional activities were once practiced. Guided by Xavier Gomila, a professor and coastal researcher, the activity will immerse attendees in a tour of the port's emblematic spots, uncovering techniques, trades, and ways of life linked to its history. It's an opportunity to connect with Menorca's traditional culture and maritime heritage, reflecting on the relationship between humans and the sea, offering a different way to explore it. The activity is free and has limited spots. Pre-registration will take place from September 25th to October 6th, on a first-come, first-served basis.
